Kairos Prison Ministry International
Serve a Kairos weekend inside
Trained volunteer teams run a structured four-day retreat inside a prison for a group of residents and then come back monthly for reunions. Kairos Outside runs the same format for women whose family members are incarcerated, and Kairos Torch works with younger offenders.
Why this is listed
The monthly return is what separates this from a prison visit, and chaplains keep inviting it back for exactly that reason. Expect clearance, team training, and a genuine multi-year commitment before your first weekend inside — this is not a way to help quickly.
How to start
- Open mykairos.org (opens an external site) and read what Kairos Prison Ministry International says about itself before you read anything else.
- Check the time it asks for: ongoing.
- Look at the filings below, then decide. Numbers are context, not a verdict.
- Tell your church. Going out is rarely meant to be done alone.

Joseph: King of Dreams
DreamWorks Animation
The Genesis account of Joseph — the coat, the pit, Potiphar's house, the prison, the famine and the reunion — made as a direct-to-video companion to The Prince of Egypt. Joseph's dreams are rendered as a swirling Van Gogh-styled sequence that sets them visibly apart from the waking story.
