About
What we list
What gets listed on Grain, what does not, and what the labels mean.
What gets listed
- It is Christian, in line with our statement of faith.
- It gives you a way to get involved or to grow: somewhere to serve, something to join, something to read, watch, or study.
- It has a working link to the organization’s own site.
- It is active now.
The statement of faith is here. It is five lines long.
What does not
- Churches and groups outside the statement of faith.
- Prosperity-gospel teaching.
- Political campaigns, lobbying, and advocacy groups. Grain is not political.
- Anything with an open, credible safeguarding concern.
- Paid placement. Nobody can buy a listing.
What the labels mean
- Verified
- Reviewed in full: the organization, what it believes, and its link.
- Provisional
- Found and link-checked, but not yet reviewed in full.
- Flagged
- A concern was raised. Being looked at again.
What a listing is not
- A listing is not an endorsement of everything an organization holds.
- Where a listing shows public filings, they come straight from ProPublica’s copy of IRS Form 990 data. Grain does not edit them.
- Not being listed is not a verdict. Most of what is missing has simply not been added yet.
If a listing does not belong here, use the flag on that listing or write to grain@ripenedgrain.com. To suggest something, use the suggestion form. Last updated .
