Stand to Reason

Stand to Reason

Greg Koukl’s weekly call-in show, plus a free article and video archive, aimed at ordinary conversations rather than platform debates. Much of it is a method: ask questions, make the other person carry the burden of their own claim, leave a stone in the shoe.

Why this is listed

Most apologetics trains you to win an argument you will never be in. This trains you to hold a conversation with a colleague at lunch, which is the situation a reader is actually in, and the live calls show the method failing as well as working.

How to start

  1. Open str.org (opens an external site) and read what Stand to Reason says about itself before you read anything else.
  2. Confirm the cost and level fit: free, introductory, over weekly rhythm.
  3. Note the tradition — Broadly evangelical. It will shape what you are taught, and that is worth knowing going in.
  4. Put the first session in your calendar now. The gap between reading about study and doing it is a calendar entry.
