Lifeline Children's Services

Get your church ready for foster families

A licensed adoption and foster agency based in Birmingham, Alabama, working domestically and in several countries, alongside a training track that equips a local church to support the adoptive and foster families already in its pews. Placement services carry fees; the church training is a separate programme.

Why this is listed

Listed as much for the church-equipping side as the placement side, because most congregations already have foster families and no plan for them. It is an explicitly confessional agency with a statement of faith — which some readers want and others should know about first.

How to start

  1. Open lifelinechild.org (opens an external site) and read what Lifeline Children's Services says about itself before you read anything else.
  2. Check the time it asks for: months.
  3. Look at the filings below, then decide. Numbers are context, not a verdict.
  4. Tell your church. Going out is rarely meant to be done alone.

    The Prince of Egypt

    DreamWorks Animation

The Exodus story told as animation, following Moses from the Nile basket to the parting of the sea. The plagues and the final night in Egypt are played with real weight rather than softened, and the score carries much of the storytelling.
