illumiNations
Learn about the illumiNations translation alliance
An alliance of the major Bible translation organizations — among them Wycliffe, Biblica, Seed Company, and American Bible Society — pooling effort toward one goal: a translation begun in every remaining language, ending what they call Bible poverty. Its focus is the languages still without any Scripture.
Why this is listed
It coordinates the last and hardest languages through whichever member is best placed to do the work, rather than leaving agencies to work apart. The trade-off is distance: it is a coalition, so check which member does the work in a given language and how it is governed.
How to start
- Open illuminations.bible (opens an external site) and read what illumiNations says about itself before you read anything else.
- Check the time it asks for: one-off.
- Look at the filings below, then decide. Numbers are context, not a verdict.
- Tell your church. Going out is rarely meant to be done alone.
