Why this is listed

Sign-up page confirmed live on 2026-10-24 offering the weekly devotional by email at no stated cost. Tony Evans is one of the most widely read Black evangelical pastors and the first African American to publish a full study Bible and commentary.

How to start

  1. Open tonyevans.org (opens an external site) and read what The Urban Alternative (Tony Evans) says about itself before you read anything else.
  2. Confirm the cost and level fit: free, introductory, over weekly rhythm.
  3. Note the tradition — Non-denominational. It will shape what you are taught, and that is worth knowing going in.
  4. Put the first session in your calendar now. The gap between reading about study and doing it is a calendar entry.
