The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary — Master of Divinity
The standard pastoral M.Div. at the oldest Southern Baptist seminary, available residentially in Louisville and online. Coursework covers biblical languages, exposition, theology, church history, and pastoral ministry.
Why this is listed
Listed mainly for the cost. Denominational subsidy through the Cooperative Program puts an accredited M.Div. within reach of a Southern Baptist student who could not otherwise consider one, and few schools of this size are that much cheaper for the people they serve.
How to start
- Open sbts.edu (opens an external site) and read what The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary says about itself before you read anything else.
- Confirm the cost and level fit: paid, graduate, over years.
- Note the tradition — Baptist. It will shape what you are taught, and that is worth knowing going in.
- Put the first session in your calendar now. The gap between reading about study and doing it is a calendar entry.
