International Justice Mission

Learn about IJM’s work against trafficking

IJM works with local authorities to rescue people from slavery, trafficking, and violence, then supports survivors and helps strengthen the justice systems that are meant to protect them. Some skilled roles and internships exist for lawyers, investigators, and social workers.

Why this is listed

It goes after the machinery of injustice, not only its symptoms — rescuing the individual and then working so the local courts and police do their job — which is slower and harder than relief and rarer to find done well. Listed for anyone who wants to understand, pray for, or bring professional skill to the freeing of the oppressed.

How to start

  1. Open ijm.org (opens an external site) and read what International Justice Mission says about itself before you read anything else.
  2. Check the time it asks for: one-off.
  3. Look at the filings below, then decide. Numbers are context, not a verdict.
  4. Tell your church. Going out is rarely meant to be done alone.
